Adoption Fee $250
Kane is a 2 year old black and rust male Doberman with cropped ears and docked tail. He has recently come to GDR because his owner can no longer provide him with the time and exercise that he needs because she is working and going to school. Kane is up-to-date on his vaccinations, negative for internal parasites, heartworm negative, and neutered. He will be microchipped prior to adoption.

Kane is used to daily activity so he is looking for a family that can exercise him every day. He ran 3-4 miles with his previous owner and enjoys early morning trips to the dog park where he can run and play without other dogs around. Kane is a very intelligent and very willful boy. He has been through obedience training and this will need to continue in his new home to stimulate his mind. He has a good grasp of basic commands and tricks. He will do best in a home where he gets all the attention and where someone is usually home most of the day. He has separation anxiety, so he will bark when he is left alone, or is in a room by himself and can’t see his people. Because of this he is not an ideal dog for a person living in an apartment and his adoptive family will need to help him with his separation anxiety. Kane’s future family should already be experienced Doberman owners. He will not be placed into a home with children under 10 years old, or with children who are not dog savvy, nor will he be placed into a home with cats, or other male dogs. He may do okay in a home with a very submissive female.
