Daniel

Adoption fee: $250

Daniel is a 2 year old black and rust, male Doberman with docked tail and natural ears. He has been neutered, microchipped, is negative for intestinal parasites, and is up to date on vaccinations.  He is Heartworm positive and currently undergoing treatment.

Daniel has been through a lot in his young life. He is a tripod Doberman and we do not know how he lost his leg. Once he’d healed from losing a leg, he was left to wander the neighborhood. He was running, excitedly towards a man and his daughter.Due to the award gait from the loss of his front leg, it was thought to be threatening, so the man shot Daniel in his other shoulder. The neighbor called animal control who came out and took him but he was reclaimed by his owner. Animal Control did a follow up and found that Daniel still had the open gunshot wound. The owner told animal control that he was going to do the gun shot wound surgery on his own and he was told no, that Daniel needed to be under a vet’s care. When the owner refused, Daniel was taken from him.

We can’t say enough about the shelter that took him in. They did the gun shot wound surgery, let him rehab for 2 weeks and then tested him with other dogs. They contacted GDR when he was healed because they knew he’d need a special kind of care in placing him into a home. Daniel is heartworm positive and undergoing very expensive treatment. He’s up to date on all vaccines, negative for intestinal parasites, neutered and microchipped. If you would like to donate to Daniel’s care, please send via PayPal to donate@georgiadobermanrescue.com. All donations are tax deductible and greatly appreciated! Daniel does well with dogs and cats.  With his young age, he just wants to play, play, play! He has not been tested with children yet. His foster is working on house breaking him as well as on manners.
