Meili (pronounced MAY-LEE) is a 3-year-old black and tan Doberman with a docked tail and natural ears. She is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, negative for heart worms and negative for intestinal parasites.

Meili came to us as an owner surrender because she has boundless amounts of energy that they didn’t know how to harness. She was adopted out form GDR a couple of months ago but had to come back due to an unexpected health issue in the family. She is friendly and full of energy and was never taught how to settle down and when to use her bursts of energy, so she would do best in an active home who likes to run, hike and play.  Whether they’re a runner and hiker or has plans for an agility dog, Meili needs constant activity to stay out of trouble. She is extremely smart and learns very quickly. She knows basic commands such as sit, down, stay, shake, kennel and place. If she gets bored, she will find some mischief to get into. Meili is housebroken and crate trained and loves to play with toys.  She does well with male dogs but due to her dominance will not be placed in a home with other females, and no kitties or small animals as she will most definitely give chase.  Small children would not be good either since her bursts of energy and tendency to be mouthy when she plays would result in an accidentally knocked over kid. Her play style is typical Doberman, and she’s quite vocal. She travels well in a car and does best when crated.  The best way to describe Meili is a puppy in a 3-year-old’s body!  When she’s done running around and playing, Meili is a sweetheart that lives to cuddle and watch TV with you on the couch.  In a home where she will receive plenty of exercise and attention, she will be a joy to have.
