Physical appearance: Gunny is a 10-year-old male, red and rust Doberman with natural ears and a docked tail. He weighs in at 86lbs and is a little on the tall side.
Personality: Gunny may be 10 years old but he’s still a Doberman, which means he still has a ton of energy. He’s not hyperactive like a pup but will still happily play in the backyard and go for long walks. The best part is he also knows how to just chill out and nap on the couch too. He loves to play with the other dogs and would do great in a home with a female to romp around with. He absolutely loves attention and to be pet constantly and his foster says he is well mannered. He’s eager to please and has excellent house manners. The only thing Gunny wants is affection.
Why he’s in rescue: Gunny had been adopted out in 2015. he was well loved by his dad, but unfortunately, COVID took him way too soon. Gunny ended up in a shelter in all the confusion but made his way back to GDR to find him his new and final forever home.
Manners and training: One of the best parts of a senior dog is they usually come with some training. Gunny knows how to sit, stay, lay down and will come when called. He walks well on a leash and does not pull, so he’s perfect for someone who needs a walking partner but doesn’t have a ton of time to spend on training. He would make a great first Doberman or even first dog. He is crate trained, potty trained, and has excellent house manners.
Vetting: All of our dogs are brought up to date on rabies, Bordetella, and combo, negative for intestinal parasites and heartworms, neutered and microchipped before adoption.
