Joss is a 11-month-old melanistic Doberman with natural ears and a docked tail. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, negative for heartworm and intestinal parasites and microchipped.
Joss came into recue with her sisters Carly and Lulu as well as another male Doberman that may or may not be their dad. They were found by a realtor on the back of a client’s property and she convinced the owner to surrender them to rescue. All were incredibly thing and there was no food or water in sight on an incredibly hot summer day. We got them into rescue and to the vet immediately. Luckily, we got them there in time and their physical condition was not dire, but emotionally these guys need a bit of work.
Joss has several scars on her head and body from what was likely fighting over food and water, or just general sibling infighting. She is also on the small side, weighing in at only 46lbs. She is a sweetheart, but a total spaz and needs someone that will work with her to get her craziness under control, but in a way that won’t cause her to shut down. She is a fast learner and has been good with the other dogs in her foster home, however we do not know about cats. Smaller kids tend to scare her with their unpredictable movements and running around, so she will not be adopted to a home with kids under 10. Joss would do great with plenty of structure and once she’s a bit older, would be a great running or hiking buddy.
