Physical appearance: Rosey is a 3-year-old female, black and tan Doberman with a docked tail and natural ears.  She’s average size for a Doberman at 65lbs.

Personality: Rosey is a high energy girl that needs an active family and room to run.  She’s a sweetheart with all people big and small, but is reactive around other dogs and needs to be an only dog.  She loves to play and cuddle and is very good with the small children in her foster home and her previous home.  She is not suited for condo or apartment living and since she really loves to run and play, a fenced in yard is best for her.

Why she’s in rescue: Previously Rosey lived in an apartment with her owner, his daughter and a roommate.  He got Rosey from a friend who could no longer care for her thinking a dog would be a good addition, but he was not prepared for the energy and level of clinginess a Doberman brings.  She spent almost all of her time crated and he decided she deserved better.

Manners and training: This girl is crate trained, potty trained, and knows how to sit and lay down.  She rides well in a car and is gentle with kids.  She needs work on a leash and a consistent and experienced owner will have an easier time with her than someone not experienced with the breed.  She’s pushy, and since she is reactive with dogs, she’ll need someone physically strong enough to handle her if need be.

Vetting: All our dogs are brought up to date on rabies, Bordetella, and combo, negative for intestinal parasites, spayed and microchipped before adoption.
