Shiba is a 3 year old blue and tan female Doberman with a docked tale and cropped ears that do not stand. She is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed, and is negative for heartworms and intestinal parasites.

This little girl is adorable! The problem is she’s so adorable it seems she was never told “no” in her former life and needs some work on her manners. While this is being worked on in foster, it will need to be continued in her new home. She knows how to sit, lay down and shake and is crate and potty trained. When she is adopted, she will need to be given strict boundaries and to earn her freedom in the house. She’s a super smart girl and does learn quickly, however she can not be adopted to a home that does not believe in rules and structure because without them, she will become the one trying to make the rules. She’s a sneaky little girl and will take every opportunity she can to counter surf or break into the trash which means crating when you aren’t home is a MUST for her own safety as she will get into absolutly anything she can. She is going to take some work, but she’s absolutly worth it.

Shiba is a fantastic cuddle-buddy and incredibly affectionate. She is velcro to an extreme and wants to be in your lap as much as humanly possible. When not cuddling, she’s very active and would make a great running or hiking buddy. She can run for days and will leap tall obstacles in a single bound so a tall fence will be required. Dogs and kids she loves, but cats are iffy unless you are familiar with working with a dog to get along with cats. She will give chase and her strong prey drive means she could kill or injure them without proper training.  Speaking of training, we will require Shiba be enrolled in some basic training classes when she is adopted to help strengthen the bond between her and her family, and also to lay some ground rules and settle her in better.

If playful and loving with a dash of michief thrown in sounds like your kind of dog, then Shiba is your girl!
