Meet Mia: The Blanket-Burrowing, Snack-Seeking, Couch-Conquering Queen
Hi, I’m Mia! I’m an (estimated) 4-year-old red and rust Doberman with cropped ears, a docked tail, and legs for days — seriously, I’m about 29 inches tall from paw to shoulder, so I get great views of your countertops (and anything you might “accidentally” leave there).
A Little About Me:
Personality:
I’m a laid-back girl with a PhD in relaxation. My ideal day? Find the softest spot in the house, burrow under a blanket, and stay there until food, pets, or potty breaks call my name. I’m affectionate but not clingy — I’ll paw you for more scritches if you stop too soon, but I’m also happy to snooze the day away.
My Story:
I was a frequent flyer at my local shelter. I got out of my yard a few times and were taken in by the pet-police, but this last time was because I was a dog-child of divorce. Meaning my family didn’t want me anymore and I got passed around before ending back in the shelter. They have a soft spot for me (I mean, who doesn’t) and asked Georgia Doberman Rescue to take me and give me the second chance I deserve.
Manners and Training:
I’m crate trained, potty trained, and know “sit” and “wait.” I’m food-motivated (to put it mildly), so teaching me new tricks will be easy — as long as snacks are involved. I walk on leash, but I can pull when I’m excited, so a little more practice will make me perfect. At the vet or in public, I’m calm and patient, just happy to hang out by your side.
Special Considerations:
I’m still working on gaining weight, so dinner time is a big deal for me. I’m curious about small dogs and cats — maybe a little too curious — so careful introductions are best. I’m not much for playing with toys or other dogs, but I do fine with calm, similar-sized canine friends. Oh, and thunderstorms? Hard pass. My coping mechanism is hiding under a blanket with you until they’re over. Also, full disclosure: I sometimes eat things that aren’t food (paper towels, socks, grass), so… watch your laundry. Kids are TBD, but I’m happy to meet them once I’m fully recovered from my spay.
Health and Vetting:
I’m spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and negative for heartworms. I’ve been treated for hookworms and tapeworms and am working on kicking a stubborn UTI (my rescue is on top of it).
Why You’ll Love Me:
If you want a calm, affectionate, blanket-sharing buddy who won’t pester you for constant activity but will absolutely be your shadow when it counts, I’m your girl. Add in my love for food and my low-drama personality, and you’ve got yourself the perfect Netflix marathon partner.
Can’t wait to meet you! 🐾❤️
Love,
Mia
