Meet Summer: The Chill, Cuddly Unicorn of Dobermans

Hey there, I’m Summer! I’m a 4-year-old black and rust female Doberman with classy cropped ears, a docked tail, and curves that prove I’ve had a few too many litters. Don’t worry, I’ve retired from that life. Now, I’m all about the good stuff: naps, cuddles, and gentle strolls around the yard.

Personality:
They say unicorn Dobermans don’t exist—young, calm, and cropped—but here I am. I’m the rare, laid-back dobe who doesn’t need to run marathons or chase tennis balls for hours. I prefer a slow, peaceful lifestyle filled with pets, snacks, and love. Walks? They’re fine, but honestly, a fenced yard for sniffing and sunbathing sounds way better.

If you think you’ve pet me enough, you’re wrong. There is no such thing as too many cuddles. If your hands get tired, I’ll happily accept pets from your feet too. The more people petting me, the better!

My Story:
It’s clear I was overbred before coming into rescue, but those days are behind me. Now, I’m soaking up the easy life—soft beds, cozy crates, and all the attention I can get. I’m ready to trade in my old life for one filled with love, comfort, and endless affection.

Manners & Training:
I’m crate trained, potty trained, and a total pro on the leash. I ride beautifully in the car and am overall just an easy, mellow companion. I’ll play with my foster brother when the mood strikes me (usually when Mercury is in retrograde), but otherwise, I’m perfectly happy to just hang out and supervise from the couch.

Health & Vetting:
I’m spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all my vaccines (rabies, Bordetella, and distemper). I tested negative for intestinal parasites and completed heartworm treatment successfully—so I’m officially healthy, happy, and ready for my forever home.

I’m great with other dogs, kids, and probably cats too (I’m more of a lover than a hunter). I’m sweet, calm, and endlessly affectionate, your perfect companion for cozy nights and lazy weekends.
